Privacy Policy
TellyNite L.L.C. ("TellyNite," "we," "our," or "us") operates the TellyNite media player. This policy explains what stays on your device, what your TellyNite account may store, what we use Firebase and related services for, and what we do not control — including your third-party IPTV or playlist service ("Your Service").
Summary
- TellyNite does not provide, host, sell, or distribute channels, playlists, or media content.
- Connecting to Your Service is required for playback. Streaming and catalogue requests go to the servers you configure.
- A TellyNite account is used for authentication, trials, subscriptions, device limits, and cloud features such as AutoSync.
- We do not sell personal information to data brokers and we do not use advertising SDKs to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. What we do not collect as an IPTV provider
Because TellyNite is not your content provider, we are not the operator of Your Service. We do not select your channels, host your streams, or act as your IPTV panel. Titles, posters, and stream URLs that come from Your Service are governed by that provider's practices when traffic is sent to them.
2. Your TellyNite account
Account and entitlement data are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) on our behalf. Depending on how you sign up and use the product, this may include:
- Email address and authentication credentials (or Google sign-in identifiers)
- Display name where provided
- Account and last-updated timestamps
- Subscription and trial status, device registrations (for Premium device limits), and related entitlement records
- Records needed to operate trials securely (including measures to limit trial abuse)
Firebase Authentication may also process technical information necessary for authentication and security, such as IP address and authentication-, device-, and app-related identifiers.
You must provide accurate registration information and must be legally capable of entering into our Terms and EULA under the laws that apply to you.
3. AutoSync and cloud account data
When AutoSync and related cloud features are enabled for your account and devices, TellyNite may store and synchronize supported account data between authorized devices so your experience can follow you. Depending on feature availability and your settings, this may include:
- Profiles (Who's Watching?) and profile-related preferences
- Favorites, vault / locked or hidden items, and related organization state
- Watch history and playback-related progress where supported
- Application preferences and settings that are part of the sync model
- Playlist configuration needed for multi-device continuity when playlist sync is enabled (which may include service addresses, usernames, passwords, and related login fields you entered for Your Service)
- Device names and management metadata for linked devices
AutoSync is a product feature of TellyNite Premium / trial entitlements where offered. When enabled, provider credentials you enter for Your Service may be stored in your TellyNite cloud account as part of synced playlist configuration so linked devices can reconnect. You can manage devices and account settings in the app and on the account website where available. See also the EULA and Terms of Service.
TellyNite may also offer playlist-setup functionality that lets you configure a TV from another device. If you use that flow, you may enter credentials for Your Service through the setup experience. Those credentials may be transmitted through TellyNite cloud services to complete device setup and are held only in temporary setup-session information for that flow. That session information is removed when the session expires or is completed, including through automated cleanup, and is not stored in your TellyNite cloud account as synced playlist configuration. Ongoing storage of provider credentials in your cloud account happens only when you enable AutoSync playlist synchronization as described above.
4. What typically stays on your device
In normal use, large local catalogues, caches, recordings or timeshift buffers (when supported), and many playback assets remain on the device. Local backups you create on your device are under your control and are not automatically uploaded by TellyNite unless a cloud feature you use is designed to store that data.
TellyNite does not offer a general "offline download store" of third-party movies or shows as a product feature. Any local recording or buffer behavior is limited to capabilities you enable and that Your Service / device support.
5. Connections to Your Service
When you play or browse, the app connects to the third-party service you configure, sending credentials and requests as needed to authenticate and retrieve catalogue or stream data from that service. That service is operated by a third party we do not control, do not endorse, and have no affiliation with. Its handling of your data is governed by its privacy policy, not this one.
Some providers use unencrypted HTTP on custom ports. Where your provider requires that, traffic between your device and Your Service may not be encrypted. That is a property of the service you choose.
6. Metadata services (TMDb)
On supported platforms, TellyNite may request catalogue metadata (such as posters, descriptions, and ratings) from TMDb (The Movie Database) to enrich browsing. TMDb may see technical request data such as your device's IP address. This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb. Metadata quality and availability are not guaranteed. See TMDb's Privacy Policy.
7. Diagnostics and analytics
The Android TV app may use Google Firebase services (with Google acting as a processor), including:
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash and error reports (for example device model, OS version, app version, and stack traces) to diagnose playback and stability issues. You can turn off crash/diagnostics reporting in the app's About settings.
- Firebase Analytics through the included Google SDK, which may collect limited automatic usage and session data to help us understand app reliability and feature use. There is currently no in-app setting to disable Firebase Analytics.
Depending on which Firebase services are enabled, these services may process technical information such as device and app information, IP address, crash information, identifiers, and usage or session information as applicable.
The About settings diagnostics toggle controls Crashlytics crash reporting only; it does not disable Firebase Analytics. Do not put secrets you do not want processed into free-text fields you submit to us. Provider credentials should only be entered in the playlist / account fields intended for connecting Your Service.
8. Purchases and trials
Paid Premium is sold through the applicable app store, including Google Play Billing. TellyNite does not receive or store your full payment-card details through Google Play. We may receive and process information such as product or subscription identifiers; purchase or transaction identifiers or tokens; purchase date; subscription status; renewal or expiration information; and entitlement information. We use this information to verify purchases, manage Premium access, maintain subscription records, and prevent fraud or abuse where applicable. Trial eligibility and entitlement state may also be stored so we can grant access and limit abuse.
9. Security
Account traffic to Firebase uses HTTPS. Access to cloud account data is scoped to your signed-in user under our security rules and backend controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for protecting your account credentials and devices.
10. Retention, rights, and deletion
We retain information as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business, security, and legal purposes. If a trial or subscription expires and you do not resubscribe, certain cloud sync data may be removed after a retention period. Local data on your device is not automatically removed by cloud retention alone.
You may delete certain cloud-synced data without deleting your TellyNite account by using the applicable reset or deletion controls in the TellyNite app, including the AutoSync reset functionality when available. This removes the applicable synced data while your account remains active.
You may permanently delete your account from the TellyNite app (About / Account) or from the account website dashboard settings. Account deletion removes your Firebase Authentication account and personal data stored under your user profile (including synced profiles, preferences, and related cloud data) as described in our account-deletion process. Certain business records may be retained where necessary — for example subscription records, purchase history, trial-abuse prevention records, and other records we must keep for fraud prevention, accounting, or legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact support@tellynite.com to make a request. We will honour requests as required by applicable law.
11. International transfers
Our service providers (including Google Firebase) may process data in the United States or other regions where they operate. If you use TellyNite from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations. Where required, we rely on applicable safeguards for international transfers, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms used by our service providers.
12. Children's privacy
TellyNite is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. Parental Controls in the app are household tools and are not a guarantee that all mature content will be blocked. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable minimum age without the required authorization, we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.
13. The TellyNite website
The marketing and account website may process technical logs needed to serve pages (such as IP address and user-agent) through our hosting provider. If you sign in, Firebase Authentication and account APIs process your account credentials and session as described above.
The TellyNite website may use cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, account sessions, security, and website functionality. These technologies are not used by TellyNite to create cross-site advertising profiles.
We do not run advertising or remarketing tags on the website to build cross-site advertising profiles. If we add optional website analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent.
14. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with:
- Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore (Google) to authenticate accounts, store account information, entitlement and subscription information, device-management information, and provide AutoSync and other cloud account functionality; and other Google Firebase services such as Crashlytics and Analytics as described above
- Hosting and related infrastructure providers that help operate the website
- App platforms (such as Google Play) for subscription validation
- Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights and users
15. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy when our data practices change or when required by law. The updated policy will be posted at https://tellynite.com/privacy with a new "Last updated" date.
